Danish loudspeakers
Danish designed loudspeakers with the latest technology ensure the Twist delivers on its promises: symmetric magnetic motor, solid aluminium basket, extensive venting, to name a few.
Controlled directivity
By integrating the cabinet design, cross over and drivers, the Twist has a controlled directivity of sound, meaning the Twist is less critical to the listening room acoustics.
Hand build in Denmark
Build by hand in the for Denmark typical small scale production adds a personal touch to each loudspeaker.
Select your veneer
Vist the Factory and be there during the build. You will be able to select the veneer you like best.
Finely tuned cross over
the elaborate 24 dB/oct Linkwitz- Riley cross over gives more upper mid range energy for a more open sound and improves the tweeter high power performance.
Clean upper bass
The acoustic design of the cabinet effectively reduces internal standing waves around 200Hz for improved clarity.
Danish Design
Carefully considered curves are the heart of each unique Davone design. The perfect rhythm and balance of the design visualize music.
the Magnetic Motor
All loudspeakers may look alike for the untrained eye. But to reduce cost, usually chassis are made from plastic, the magnet and voice coil are too small and the magnetic motor will be from simple, unoptimized geometry, to name a few. In contrast, take a look at the woofer that is used in the Twist that has been optimized for quality instead of cost:
- The magnetic structure is optimised using advanced Finite Element Analysis software. The result is a magnetic field with a better than 95% symmetry within the voice coil travel range of +/-12 mm. Compared to traditional designs, the harmonic distortion is greatly reduced, especially at higher loudness levels.
- Large magnet structure with 39 mm heavy-duty fiber glass vented voice coil for better control, power handling, dynamic performance and low-level details.
- Copper cap on center pole to reduce voice coil inductance and to minimize variations in voice coil inductance as a function of voice coil position.
- Cone made of a paper/glass fiber mix with improved stability.
- Rigid die cast alu chassis with extensive venting for lower air flow speed reducing audible distortion
Frequency response
38-22.000Hz
Impedance
4 ohm, 3.7 ohm minimum at 350Hz
Sensitivity
88 dB/2,83V/m
Recommended Amplifer power
100-200 Watt
Mid woofer
180mm, low distortion driver with a special fibre blend cone with optimal balance of stiffness, damping and density. Symmetric motor structure for optimal drive force symmetry. Designed in Denmark
Tweeter
1″, Anodised aluminium dome, flow optimized vented pole piece with non-reflective chamber, saturation controlled motor system. Designed in Denmark
Cross over
2.4kHz, 24dB/Oct Linkwitz Riley
System
Bass reflex
Cabinet Construction
The twisted side panels are made from 7 layer beech wood form pressed veneer for increased stiffness and a unique appearance from all viewing angels. The form pressed baffle is made from 10 layers HDF
Weight
17.3 kg / piece
Height / Width / Depth
96 / 24 / 27 cm
Current version

Designer
Paul Schenkel
Colours and materials
The Twist is available with fixed grille, or without grille. The fixed grille colour options are listed below. Without the grille, the front can be customised with almost any upholstery fabric of your choosing. Upholstery fabric offers a rich choice of thread colours and texture because it does not have to be sound transparent. But having many options also makes it difficult to choose. Therefore, below we list a small selection from the Danish Kvadrat Metric series we know suit the Twist very well.
"Highly recommended."
